On this cruise through the Tennessee Valley, admire the stunning natural backdrop as we pass through the Appalachian Mountains and the Land Between the Lakes. Experience the rich history and culture of the region on board our spectacular American riverboat. Renowned musicians will serenade you with a variety of music that was born of the river, as its banks were once home to a booming recording industry and the area was considered, “The Hit Recording Capital of the World.”

In Chattanooga, guests can explore local attractions such as the famous Walnut Street Pedestrian Bridge and Coolidge Park, accompanied by our expert local guides. You will also visit Savannah, the largest town on the Tennessee River and home to the nation’s most well-preserved battlefield, Shiloh National Military Park.

Along with Civil War history, music-inspired cities, and incredible southern cuisine, you will cruise the Cumberland River through the Tennessee River Gorge and be amazed by the sights and sounds this region of the Mississippi has to offer.

  1. Day 1 ARRIVE CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE

  2. Day 2 CHATTANOOGA – EMBARKATION

    Nestled between the mountains of Southeast Tennessee, along the scenic Tennessee River, Chattanooga is one of America’s most splendid cities. Enjoy a Welcome Reception on board as you begin your journey cruising along this breathtaking river with the majestic Appalachian Mountains serving as a beautiful backdrop.

  3. Day 3 DECATUR, AL

    Southern charm abounds in the Old Decatur Historic District. Admire houses built from the 1800s to the present, ranging in style from the French-influenced Empire period to Edwardian Cottage and beyond. On your way, peruse the many unique shops found along Bank Street and 2nd Avenue. Visit the fascinating area museums, including the Cook Museum of Natural Science, the Carnegie Visual Art Center, and the U.S. Space & Rocket Center.

  4. Day 4 FLORENCE, AL

    Florence is one of four cities that make up the ”the Shoals,” an area spanning two counties and separated by the Tennessee River. Explore the charming downtown, with locally owned stores featuring everything from handmade jewelry and bohemian chic fashion to antique collectables. Stop at the Wine Seller for a tasting or sip Java at the popular Bookmarks Coffee Shop in the public library. There are a variety of venues in which to enjoy live entertainment including the Shoals Theatre and FloBama Music Hall. Explore the home of W.C. Handy, known as the “Father of the Blues,” and visit the Frank Lloyd Wright Rosenbaum House, the only Wright building that is open to the public in the Southeast.

     

     

  5. Day 5 SAVANNAH, TN

    Part of Hardin County, Savannah is the largest town on the Tennessee River, with a celebrated southern heritage. Home to the nation’s most well-preserved battlefield, Shiloh National Military Park, the town also has a rich Civil War history. Admire the city’s historic district featuring 42 unique, now privately- homes, including the Cherry Mansion which served as the headquarters of General Ulysses S. Grant at the time of the Battle of Shiloh. Other points of interest include the Savannah Theater, Savannah Cemetery, and recently revitalized Main Street.

  6. Day 6 PADUCHA, KY

    The beautiful Tennessee River empties into the Ohio River, and the Cumberland River and the Mississippi converge nearby, making Paducah an important port centralized at the axis. More than 50 murals highlight the region’s rich history. Learn the importance of the town as headquarters for Civil War General Ulysses S. Grant as he embarked to secure Union control of the rivers. Only a block away, the excellent River Discovery Center illuminates the importance of the rivers to this historic port.

     

  7. Day 7 CRUISING LAKE BARKLEY AND THE CUMBERLAND RIVER

    Cruising the Cumberland River’s Lake Barkley is a special day that you will cherish. The 1966 completion of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ 57-foot Barkley Lock and Dam pooled the Cumberland River back for 134 miles and created a curving, stunning collection of coves totaling more than 1,000 miles of shoreline.

  8. Day 8 NASHVILLE, TN

    From the legendary Ryman Auditorium to the Country Music Hall of Fame, Nashville hosts an array of museums and performance venues that pay tribute to its heritage as the home of Country Music. The lively streets are lined with art galleries and unique shops that welcome you at every turn and the sounds of talented performers hoping for stardom echo from every pub.  Enjoy transportation and tickets to the renowned live show at the Grand Ole Opry featuring longtime Opry performers in addition to rising stars!

These 3 sister ships were specifically designed to navigate the Mississippi River, and her tributaries. They feature panoramic views throughout, including an impressive four-story glass atrium in the center of the ship. Ranging from 250 to 650 square feet, all of the spacious staterooms feature full-size bathrooms, roomy closets, and private balconies where you can enjoy daily breakfast room service. Each also offers the Ellipse Café for casual dining, an option that has been very popular with our guests.

These ships also feature many spacious lounges, where you can share the day’s adventures with fellow guests, as well as an onboard fitness center. At the end of each incredible day, unwind in your luxurious Grand Suite or Veranda Suite and enjoy “suite treats” which have been delivered to your stateroom, such as mini cheesecakes or chocolate-covered strawberries.

AAR staterooms on the main deck offer complete comfort with approximately 275 sq. ft. of living space.
