  1. Day 1 NOME (ALASKA)

Located along the Bering Strait at the westernmost point of Alaska, Nome offers the rustic charm of a former gold-mining town, set in the middle of magnificent wilderness. As you weave in and out of the brightly colored houses, you will discover the pioneering legacy that still marks local traditions. Fishing, reindeer herding, sled dog-racing and gold mining are still practiced here. The surrounding plains provide stunning vantage points for observing Arctic fauna.

(NOTE: Consider adding a day or two to explore Nome, or other highlights of Alaska. We can arrange it all for you.)

Emabarkation from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM (16H00 to 17H00). Departure at 8:00 PM (20H00).

  2. Day 2 Cross the International Date Line (Lose a Day) – PROVIDENIYA, RUSSIA

Across the Bering Strait from Alaska, which it almost touches, the town of Provideniya seems to keep a watchful eye over ships heading for the East Siberian Sea. Nestled against mountains with peaks of up to 2,000 m, Provideniya is the gateway to the Chukotka Peninsula, a polar region practically unknown to the general public, with striking landscapes and a primitive beauty like no other.

  3. Day 3 BIG DIOMEDE – CAPE DEZHNEV, CHUKOTKA, RUSSIA

Located in the middle of the narrow Bering Strait between Alaska and Russia, the Diomede Islands are in a unique position to observe migrating gray whales, birds and other marine life. In 1898, the cape was officially renamed as Cape Dezhnev, replacing Captain James Cook’s name, the “East Cape”. It was named in honor of Semyon Dezhnev, the first recorded European to round its tip (in 1648). There is a large monument to Dezhnev on the seacoast.

  4. Day 4 KOLYUCHIN ISLAND

Walrus herds may be found near this otherwise deserted island.

  5. Day 5-7 KRASINA - AY- WRANGEL ISLAND NATIONAL RESERVE

Wrangel Island is a breeding ground for polar bears, having the highest density of dens in the world, seals, walrus, and lemmings. Arctic foxes also make their home on the island. Cetaceans such as bowhead whales, gray whales, and belugas can be seen close to shore.

  6. Day 8 CAPE VANKAREM (TCHOUKOTKA)
  7. Day 9 YTTYGRAN- “Whale Bone Alley”- PROVIDENIYA – Cross the International Date Line (Gain a Day)

Situated on the northern shore of Yttygran island, whale bone alley consists of a large number of carefully arranged whale skulls, whale bones and stones, along with a considerable number of meat storage pits. It is thought that Whale Bone Alley was used as a central shrine by a number of different villages dotted along the eastern Chukotkan coast.

  8. Day 10 SAVOONGA, ALASKA, USA

St Lawrence Island in the Bering Sea has been inhabited sporadically for the past 2,000 years by both Alaskan Yup’ik and Siberian Yupik people. In the 18th and 19th centuries, the island had a population of about 4,000 in numerous villages. Currently Savoonga has about 650 inhabitants.

  9. Day 11 At Sea
  10. Day 12 ST PAUL ISLAND, PRIBILOFS

Located in the middle of the Bering Sea, Saint-Paul Island is the largest island of the Pribilof archipelago. Fur seas, also called Pribilof seals, have made this haven of peace their home with its rich biodiversity.

  11. Day 13 DUTCH HARBOR & UNALASKA BAY

Clinging to the southwestern tip of Alaska, between the Pacific Ocean and the Bering Sea, the port of Dutch Harbor offers a delightfully different stopover at the heart of the Aleutian Islands archipelago.

  12. Day 14 CHANKLIUT ISLAND
  13. Day 15 GEOGRAPHIC HARBOR- HIDDEN HARBOR/ KINAK BAY

Part of Katmai National Park and Monument, Geographic Harbor is home to many Brown Bear who feed on the plentiful salmon, vegetation, and shell fish along tidal areas.

  14. Day 16 HOLGATE GLACIER
  15. Day 17 SEWARD (ANCHORAGE)

Disembark. Transfer to Anchorage Airport, or stay a while to explore more of Alaska.
